Hiss-terical trip for Crawley father

A father-of-one with a fascination for snakes is to spend four months sharing a room with 40 of them for charity.
David Jones, from Burns Road, Crawley, is flying out to South Africa to sit in a room with poisonous snakes to raise cash for St Catherine’s Hospice.
He said: “I have to say I am scared. If I said I wasn’t I would be lying.”

If he wanted to help the hospice.... he should work there 8 hours a day for no pay or reward for 4 months, instead of having a holiday for 4 months without working.
This isn't effective fundraising... this is effective laziness.

If he spent that time WORKING I N the hospice as an unpaid volunteer ... he would save them a hell of a lot more money than he could ever hope to raise by begging off others.
In the meantime... who is looking after or paying for his financial out-goings at home in Crawley? What accommodation is he returning to or will he expect the Council to house him and pay his rent? How long will it take before he is able to find work again and reduce the burden of us paying for his dole money?
Who is paying for his food and accommodation while he is with his snakes? Please don't tell me that it will be from the money that he is raising?!?
I am an avid unpaid volunteer and am awarded certificates of appreciation for my 1,000 hours of unpaid work annually; this save that charity many thousands of pounds annually.
I doubt that this snake venture would raise more than £500 (if any) when he could be saving the hospice thousands of pounds by organising a band of volunteers to undertake repairs and decorations etc at no cost.

one's a kid on volunteer in your eyes if they're not doing 20 hours a week.Listen,some people have real jobs and bills to pay!Shame he's not a transvestite or a member of the gay community though,you'd be praising him to the high heavens no doubt .
