New focus on youth culture in Brighton and Hove

Councillors are considering ways to promote culture to youngsters.

Brighton and Hove City Council has set up a cross-party inquiry to look at cultural provision for the city’s youth.

The panel, Labour’s Melanie Davis, the Green Party’s Rachel Fryer and Conservative Carol Theobald, will hold a series of public meetings.

Brighton and Hove need a dedicated art gallery.

And a good way of promoting culture would be to restore the terrible cut in the libraries budget.

Bizarre that one side of the Council should be cutting culture while the other wants to promote it...

Art galleries and libraries are unlikely to interest the youth however much you might like to dream.

Why not? The imagination is the path to success and a fulfilled life rather than dullsville.

But, in a way, you a right. It is a futile thing to campaign for better libraries, and I begin to regret the time spent on it.
