A mother battling cancer who launched a last-chance appeal to pay for potentially life-saving treatment has lost her fight for life.
Joanne Maleki-Jones died on Sunday shortly after beginning alternative treatment at a clinic in Mexico.
Mrs Jones, 32, was aiming to raise £30,000 to cover the cost of the specialist therapy which she had hoped would help her.
Mrs Jones first had breast cancer diagnosed in 2002 and underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy before being given the all clear.
However, the cancer returned in February and doctors found it had spread to her liver and bones.
Mrs Jones, from Bognor, was forced to give up her career as a singer because complications from her illness left her with breathing difficulties.
Mrs Jones posted a moving online appeal for help with a video featuring her husband Matthew, 29 and their daughter Farrin, who is almost three.
She said the video had been done as a spur of the moment thing to try and let more people hear about her story.
The family were able to secure enough funding for Mrs Jones to travel to Mexico earlier this month to start treatment but her condition deteriorated.
In an online message her husband, a manager for an air conditioning and refrigeration company said: “After a long hard battle, my dear wife Jo passed away on Sunday afternoon.
“I will continue her good work. It is what she would have wanted.”
People can continue to support the family by downloading Mrs Jones's music or making a donation.
