More than 100 families have appealed against the secondary school places their children have been allocated.
The closing date for appeals for allocations to Brighton and Hove schools has now passed and 129 have been submitted to the council.
It is the third year Brighton and Hove City Council has used its controversial combination of catchment areas and a lottery decider to allocate places.
Many families were celebrating after 82% got their first choice school. But others were devastated by the outcome – 11% were allocated their second pick and 3.6% their third, while dozens of children were told they must go to schools they had not chosen at all.
However the number of appeals has reduced overall from 143 last year.
Parents will be notified at the end of this month or the beginning of next month of the dates of their hearings.
The process is due to end in mid-June.

When some children don't get to go to school AT ALL, then it'll be a news story.
