Regarding Brighton and Hove City Council's budgetary crisis, I find myself dumbfounded.
In The Argus (January 17), Councillor Simon Burgess suggests increasing income from parking yet environment Councillor Gill Mitchell and Simon Battle insist all such income is ring-fenced for transport schemes.
In the same article, Coun Burgess announces further savings can be achieved by the introduction of wheelie bins but Coun Mitchell is at pains to point out at every given opportunity that the communal containers trial has nothing to do with cost-cutting.
Have I missed something or has the council lost the plot?
