I cannot believe the re-route of the 81 bus has caused such an uproar with residents in Woodland Avenue, Hove (The Argus, October 18).
The new route has meant the bus now stops right near my house, for which I am extremely grateful.
With the impending winter and early evenings, it is reassuring to know I won't have to walk in the dark on my own to get home.
There is no extra noise coming from the bus as it passes my house (and my bedroom is at the front).
I also find it unbelievable that parents are complaining their five-year-olds cannot play in the street. Woodland Avenue, with or without a bus, is a busy road. No parent in their right mind would allow their children to skate or ride their bikes in the middle of it.
I am gobsmacked by these narrow-minded people. Maybe they should consider the people who don't have the luxury of a car to take them to work or the elderly who rely on this bus service.
