Worthing are hoping a red card for Nko Ekoku which marred their victory over Dover will be rescinded by the referee.

The substitute was sent off in the closing minutes for an alleged head-butt after Phil Ruggles had put them on their way to a 1-0 victory with a 19th-minute penalty after Dean Readings had handled in the area.

Rebels assistant manager Danny Bloor said: "We are hopeful that the red will be rescinded as there was no headbutt and their player has also told the referee there was no headbutt. It looks like he will change his mind."

On-loan goalkeeper Mark Ormerod ensured Rebels grabbed the points after he saved Craig Wilkins' second-half penalty following a foul by Clay Lamont.

Bloor added: "The conditions were very difficult and they made us work very hard.

"Since our disappointing defeat to Thamesmead in the FA Cup with have shown great determination to bounce back with wins against Salisbury and now Dover."
