A big, grateful thank you to the No 7 and No 1 bus drivers for their courteous, friendly help on Tuesday, July 27 when, travelling to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for an appointment, I discovered I had left my haversack on board.
A loud squawk of horror produced help from a passing lady and subsequently the driver of a No 1 bus, who, smiling encouragement, drove me to the Whitehawk bus station, where immediate help and radio calls enabled me to re-catch the No 7 bus on its return from the Marina.
Again, the driver, all smiles, took me back to the County, where, surprise, surprise, I still had five minutes to spare before my appointment.
Chivalry is alive and well. Thank you, everyone. (You would not believe what was in the bag.)
