County league division two leaders Littlehampton moved four points clear at the top after a 3-0 win away to fast-fading Midhurst and Easebourne.

Billy Raynor scored twice, although his first goal took a deflection off team-mate Paul Williams, the former Burgess Hill midfielder.

Mark Price got the other with his 12th goal of the campaign.

Second-placed Worthing United were rained off away to promotion rivals Steyning Town.

Eastbourne United failed to take full advantage as they drew 3-3 at home to Westfield despite leading on three occasions.

Scott McDonald (two) and Mark Warren scored for United but Westfield notched three equalisers thanks to Sam Jamison, Dominic Clarke and Darrol Parris, who netted in the 89th minute.

Haywards Heath moved off the bottom of the table with only their second win of the season, a 2-1 defeat of fellow strugglers Pease Pottage.

It was former Loxwood manager Jason Robson's first win in four matches since taking charge and he is predicting his side will avoid relegation.

Robson said: "We have only won one game but we have had four half decent performances and it will only get better. It is a different Haywards Heath now. There is some belief in the changing room.

"Lancing and Seaford should beware. Lancing will have to match us result for result until the end of the season or else it will be them and Pease Pottage who go down."

New signing Basil Tamangany had a hand in both goals, forcing an own goal on nine minutes and setting up Ryan Smith for the winner 11 minutes from time.

Dave Thornback equalised in between and Heath were grateful for a tremendous save from Darren Lambert to deny Gareth Neathey.

Lancing crashed 7-0 at home to Mile Oak. Tony Burnett scored a hat-trick with Matt Keen, substitute Paul Eaton, Wayne Whitington (penalty) and Steve Porter also finding the net.

Victory was achieved despite losing main striker Scott Carden with a knee injury after ten minutes.

Seaford ended a run of 17 games without a win with a 3-0 success away to local rivals Peacehaven. Goals came from Simon Halsey, Rikki Plastow and Tristan Jobe.

Oakwood are hoping to keep hold of Gerald Manville, who took his tally to 21 for the season with a hat-trick as Oakwood won 4-1 at Wealden.

Combined Counties League side Horley have made an approach for Manville and a decision is expected this week. Warren Levy put Wealden ahead after two minutes but Manville then took centre stage and Mark Holmes wrapped things up late on.

Substitute Baz Allen scored the winner on his return to the club as Saltdean United won 2-1 at Wick. Allen, re-signed from Ringmer, struck on 56 minutes as Wick's Tony Miles had cancelled out an early own goal.
