Can it be possible that Brighton and Hove City Council's planning department doesn't actually want people's feedback about planning applications?

We learned from The Argus twice in Christmas week that Julie Burchill and three of her neighbours intend to pocket more than a million pounds each for the sale of their houses to a developer who will then demolish them in order to install a nasty glass and concrete development containing 108 dwellings and devoid of lovely setting (unless you count on-site parking).

Sadly, the public notices advertisement, dated December 19 for the planning application for this assault on Hove would only entertain comments up to January 2.

Even more sadly, the council offices have been closed over the Christmas and New Year period making it more difficult for any troublesome member of the public to look at the plans.

The council obviously expects us to mind our own business and let the developers get on with it.
