Jack Pearce will know at 3.10pm tomorrow whether his side are in promotion winning form.

That is how long the Bognor boss needs to see if his side's tradmark passing game is functioning.

Rocks need a point at bogey ground Walton and Hersham to secure a top flight place.

Victory will give them the title if Carshalton fail to win at Horsham.

Rocks were well below par at home to Lewes last week and Pearce said: "I never know how it is going to go until the game is ten minutes old.

"If we hit form we will get the point we need.

"If we don't we will have to rely on physical strength and a bit of luck.

"This is one of our unluckiest grounds, which is even more reason for people to say 'Jack will get his wish because he doesn't want to go up'.

"They all say that but no one wants to take Bognor into the premier more than me and no one will be more disappointed than me if we don't make it. I'm thinking positive. We are in a great position.

"If we win we could be champions, if we lose we could still go up."

Bognor will take a sizeable following to Stompond Lane and Pearce has warned them a fairytale ending is not guaranteed.

He said: "There are a lot of disappointments in football and not many good days so you have got to enjoy the game itself.

"Lots of people can enjoy winning but not so many can enjoy the game.

"As long as the players can come off the field, look in the mirror and say 'I gave everything' you cannot ask for any more."

Nicky Wyatt has left the club after coming in for criticism from fans. Lee Stevens takes his place in attack.

Horsham have agreed a new two-year deal with Gary Charman ahead of their game which could see visitors Carshalton crowned as champions.
