Real-life Bond girl Rachel Thompson has a Midas touch Goldfinger would kill for when it comes to competitions.

Rachel, who has previously won a spin in a James Bond Aston Martin Vantage, has now scooped a gold-plated miniature of the spy's Aston Martin DB5.

The avid "comper" recently won a trip to an ice hotel, similar to the one featured in the last Bond movie Die Another Day, plus some diamond jewellery. And, in another unusual twist, Rachel also works for a software company called Bond in Goring.

Rachel, from Shoreham Beach, said: "I won the model car through a British Airways in-flight magazine and had it delivered last week.

"It is an 18-carat gold plated model of the James Bond DB5, complete with guns and working ejector seat. It's about the size of my hand and I've been told it's worth about £1,500.

"The trip to the ice palace in Sweden I won in Closer magazine. I haven't seen the latest Bond film but I've been told part was filmed at an ice palace. The prize also includes £500 spending money and diamond jewellery worth £700. I am not going there until January 2 next year, though, because it has to be booked well in advance. I enter all competitions but seem to be lucky if there's something to do with James Bond."

Rachel has seen all the Bond films apart from the most recent and said Pierce Brosnan was her favourite, although Sean Connery was the "classic" Bond. She added she would like to see X-Men star Hugh Jackman take the role in the future.

Meanwhile, shaken but not stirred after her latest wins, Rachel is not slowing down her competition entries, continuing to enter about 100 a week.

The 31-year-old has been keeping a Goldeneye on any eye-catching competitions she can enter after winning a holiday to Canada in The Argus in 2000.

Other wins have included a trip to the British Grand Prix and a host of smaller prizes.

Rachel is a member of the Bright'n'Breezy Compers Club in Brighton.
