So, the Member of Parliament for Lewes, Norman Baker, thinks Brighton and Hove City Council's referendums were cynical and badly advised (The Argus, March 28).
This from a Member of Parliament who represents an area covered by East Sussex County Council, whose approach to democracy is not to consult with its citizens on both the stadium and the South Downs National Park.
With one of the country's biggest increase in council tax and with an oppositional approach to the above subjects, the council has compounded that increase with added expenses without consultation to its citizens, who pay the bills.
