Armed robbers ordered staff at a Brighton shop to lie on the ground as they grabbed hundreds of pounds from a till.
Two white men aged between 17 and 20 went into Shakti Stores in Ditchling Road between 8.10pm and 8.20pm on Saturday.
One brandished a silver handgun and made the workers - a 21-year-old woman and 19-year-old man - get down on to the floor.
They left on foot with the contents of the till.
Jig Agnihotri, the shop's owner, said the two members of staff were unhurt but badly shaken.
He said: "They were not injured and that's the main thing. You hear about this sort of thing happening in Los Angeles but not here. This is generally a peaceful area."
Police today were studying CCTV footage of the robbery to trace the offenders.
Both wore dark hooded tops and one had a dark baseball cap.
Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Brighton and Hove CID on 0845 6070999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
