New signing Steve Sidwell is on course for his Albion debut against Wolves at Molineux tonight.

The teenage midfielder is expected to join fellow Arsenal loan capture Graham Barrett in the starting line-up, as Paul Brooker is banned and there is a slight injury doubt over Simon Rodger.

Sidwell, an unused substitute in Arsenal's Worthington Cup exit against Sunderland at Highbury last week, is with the Seagulls for a month.

The Argus revealed the 19-year-old as a likely target immediately after the appointment of Steve Coppell as manager five weeks ago.

Sidwell spent last season on loan to Coppell's Brentford and was a regular in the side that reached the Second Division play-off final.

One of the England under 20 international's four goals came against Albion in their 4-0 hammering at Griffin Park in January.

"He is a player who got stronger and stronger for me and he has the pedigree," Coppell said.

"I have known Steve since the age of ten or 11 from around the Croydon area. He played for the same club as my son and he is a solid citizen.

"He played wide on the right as well as midfield a few times last season, but we didn't have many options at Brentford."

Fellow 19-year-old Daniel Webb, re-signed on a month's loan from Southend, will be among the substitutes tonight.

"I don't know a great deal about him," said Coppell. "I never saw him play for Brighton last season.

"I just remember him from the times I have seen him play for Southend.

"He is a very solid player who can just give us something a little bit different off the bench. We have got a lot of flyweight and quick types, but he has physical presence."

Rodger's full away debut is threatened by an ankle injury sustained in training. He hobbled off with an unrelated ankle problem after scoring in the 3-2 win against Bradford at Withdean nine days ago.

A seventh victory in eight League visits to Molineux will lift Albion within two points of Sheffield Wednesday and four of Stoke with two games in hand after they both lost on Saturday.
