Passengers will once again face disruption to their rail journeys at the weekend due to engineering works.

There will be no trains running between Brighton and Worthing tomorrow and Sunday for the second weekend in row.

The cancellations are due to changes being made to the rail junction at Barnham and other track improvements.

Buses will replace all trains running along the route.

South West trains will start from Worthing and the company's services between Brighton and Reading will only operate between Worthing and Basingstoke.

The closure will mean increased journey times as the buses take longer to negotiate the distance than trains.

Rail companies are warning passengers to arrive earlier for their connecting buses.

The engineering work by Railtrack, which involves taking up certain sections of track, is part of the upgrading of the line.

Passengers travelling to and from stations on the affected routes should check the times of services with National Rail Inquiries on 08457 484950.
