A young woman was sexually assaulted at the back of a busy town centre nightclub.
The 24-year-old victim told police she was attacked by an Eastern Mediterranean man at the rear of Kings nightclub in Langney Road, Eastbourne.
She had earlier been speaking to a group of four men at the back of the club.
Police believe the attacker was among the group.
Detective Constable Matt Brooks, leading the investigation, said: "I am appealing for any witnesses who may have seen a woman in her 20s talking with a group of four men.
"I am particularly interested to know of the demeanour and actions of this group and the victim prior to the offence."
