Hastings Town returned to the top of the eastern division with a thrilling 3-2 win at promotion outsiders Fisher Athletic, thanks to a freak own goal.

They overtook Dorchester Town who slipped to a 1-0 defeat at title rivals Grantham Town.

The visitors took the lead against the run of play on 14 minutes with a glorious long-range drive from Duncan McArthur.

Fisher equalised soon after when Leroy Huggins scored.

Adam Flanagan restored Hastings' advantage with a powerful header, but they conceded a second goal on the stroke of half-time when Steve Yates was caught in possession and Tony Reid scored.

Hastings claimed the winner on 62 minutes when Landry Zahana-Oni forced a save out of Mo Munden and the ball cannoned into the net off the knee of a retreating defender.

St Leonards were ripped apart 5-2 at home by a mediocre Bashley.

The hosts took the lead through Des Boateng. Terry White fed him the ball on the left and the midfielder beat two defenders before smashing the ball into the roof of the net.

Paul Sales equalised and Stuart Hussey made it 2-1 at half-time. Hussey grabbed a second before Danny Whyman pulled one back.

Bashley extended their lead when Andrew Culliford got the better of a lucky bounce and the visitors completed the scoring through Craig Anstey.
