A pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Angmering.
Police closed the A280 at Water Lane for more than four hours last night following the accident at 6.30pm.
Police said the injured person, believed to be a young male, was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester.
