I am a parent with three children at Telscombe Cliffs County Primary School and am very pleased with the way head teacher Andrew Kearsey has continued to improve the reputation and standard of the school.

My children are very happy there.

Mr Kearsey acted in the best interests of the children. The situation with Ms Thoday was very unusual.

As a parent, I should have some rights to influence the timing and the way issues of sexuality are discussed at school.

Ms Thoday's appearance was very masculine, which naturally caused some confusion and distraction, especially in a primary school.

Of the parents I have spoken to on this issue, I have been aware only of their overwhelming support of Mr Kearsey and would hope, despite this incident, he continues to receive the full backing and support of the local education authority.
