So much for getting tough on wayward parkers. The new scheme is a sham.
Why else has a dumped Ford Fiesta with no tax disc been allowed to sit in a valuable voucher space in Madeira Place, Hove, for more than one month? I know the traffic wardens have seen this car because I have watched them check my own vouchers are in order. So why, oh, why, has this car not attracted a single ticket? Better still, why hasn't it been towed away?
As long as these dumped cars continue to take up space without fear of retribution, people will be forced to park on the double yellow lines.
While I'm at it, could someone explain exactly which Tuesday or Wednesday this same road is going to have new Tarmac applied because the sign asking for cars not to park there on these days has been there for two weeks.
Even the warden patrolling the street didn't know.
