Throughout this season, our team has faced many challenges.

We have had to deal with many injuries, including Danny's back, Errol's thigh, Mike's leg and Kevin's ankle.

Several players have been sick and players have had to miss games and practices for other personal reasons. I have never been on a team that has had such unfortunate luck.

Now, as we approach our last two games, we have been hit with even more bad news. Demetric's shoulder injury has not improved to the point where he is able to play. It looks as though he may be out for the remainder of the season.

Our team also learned this week that Wil Johnson has had to go home to be with his wife Elandra, who has had complications in her pregnancy. Obviously we are going to miss Wil both on and off the court, but we recognise the importance of his going home to be with his family.

I know that everyone is hoping that things turn out well for the Johnsons and that all four of them return safely to England and the Bears next season.

Obviously we are going to have to make some dramatic changes to our approach to the games without Wil and Demetric. We have lost one of our top perimeter scorers and our toughest inside presence.

What our team needs in this situation is to have people step up and do things that they have not done in the past.

I have no doubt in my mind that both the players who have been getting minutes throughout the season can play better. I also believe that players such as James Brame, Daniel Midgley and Chris Wright can also play very well if given more than their usual number of minutes.

If everyone steps up and we play together and with poise, there is no reason that we cannot beat any of the three teams we play in the next few weeks.

The other thing which stands out to me about these next games is that we have nothing to lose. I doubt many people think that our team, without Wil and Demetric, can beat the Leopards tonight.

Well, I believe we can and I think that everyone else on the team believes that we can as well.

I know that in these types of situations, players feel more freedom and more responsibility than they may have in other games. I guarantee that fans at the game will see things from players that they have not seen before.

If we all take the added responsibility and run with it, there is no reason we cannot get a win.
