Hollingdean Albion's second string were delighted to see they had beaten RSA Sunday 6-1 and 2-1 in a Sussex Sunday League double header.

This despite not even playing. They got up on Monday to see the result published. Unfortunately, it was a misprint and no points will be going to Simon Tindell's men.

ELECTRIC SHOCK Brighton Electricity cannot believe their poor luck. Ahead of last night's scheduled AW Bridle Cup final at Whitehawk, they were without four of their players because of university holidays. Four lads have done a runner for a week and gone home.

QUEST TO PLAY The bad weather has even put paid twice to the Argus team's fixtures against Newsquest counterparts in Basildon. Hopefully, all going well, the match will be played this Thursday evening at Burgess Hill's Leylands Park.

GOOD MANOR Hollingdean Albion would be delighted to move all their games to Kings Manor School. Their game against Preston Dynamos was switched to the pitch there that has hardly seen football this season. There was actually grass on the pitch, our Hollingdean correspondent reported.

PURPLE PATCH Spare a thought for Crawley League Division Two team AFC Purple. They have only managed to play five matches all season. But they are not doing badly, sitting in fourth spot. They are 17 points behind, but have seven matches in hand. Will it be a late surge for the title?

SUMMER FIX Let's hope that all you football-starved people out there get your dose during the summer. There are a number of tournaments planned. One of them will be taking place at the University of Sussex, Falmer, on Sunday, June 17. The games will be played on full-sized pitches and officiated by County League referees. There's cash and beer prizes for top teams. Entry is £40 per team (ten names). For further details contact Sportservice on 01273 678228 or 877125. Surely it will have dried up by then!

SIX OF THE BEST Westfield U-18s might not be able to afford a cameraman - but that has not stopped them organising a goal of the season competition. Proving the pen can be mightier than the camera, the club have written a graphic description of their top six goals, scored against Sidley United, Ringmer, Hailsham (twice), Newhaven and Langney. It is just a pity that all the goals did not count for anything as the Rich City Sussex Youth League was cancelled.

FUNNY STORIES Despite the lack of games, Park Life is as hungry as ever for your funny stories. Even when not playing, some teams or players must have a story to tell. Contact me on 01273 544581 and have a larf.
