An abattoir must be a terrible place, yet farmers have been sending their cows, pigs and sheep there so they may profit from the delectable flesh on the poor bones.

A dairy cow must have calf after calf until she is old and her yield of milk drops, when she too is carted off to be slaughtered for what her body will fetch.

Call her Buttercup and weep for her?
