Albion defender Andy Crosby has been linked with a move to Second Division strugglers Swindon.

New Swindon boss Andy King is desperate to strengthen his squad.

He is signing Richard Dryden from Southampton, but could still be looking for another centre half to plug the gaps at the back.

Swindon have leaked 34 goals in 18 League games and have only two teams below them.

King knows about Crosby from his time as Mansfield's manager and he is aware of his absence from the Albion side.

Crosby was a regular last season following a £10,000 move from Chester.

The former Darlington captain lost his place in the team in September, when he was banned for a red card in the Seagulls' opening home game of the campaign against Rochdale.

Manager Micky Adams drafted in Matthew Wicks on loan from Peterborough.

Wicks has done so well that Adams signed him for £25,000 and the ex-Arsenal and Manchester United schoolboy has continued to keep Crosby out of the starting line-up.

Crosby was on the bench for an unlucky 13th match in a row in Saturday's 6-2 victory in the FA Cup at Aldershot.

He told the Argus last month: "Obviously I am frustrated. Wicksy has come in and done ever so well, so there is no argument on my behalf. I have just got to bide my time."

Albion Reserves open their defence of the Sussex senior Cup in the second round against Lewes at the Dripping Pan tonight (7.45).

The youngsters visit Brentford for a second round replay in the FA Youth Cup (7pm), with a home tie against Oldham or Port Vale awaiting the winners.
