Brighton and Hove are not the only places where scores of homeless youngsters are sleeping rough.
Figures show there are many on the streets in Eastbourne and Hastings, with others homeless even in smaller towns and villages.
Now a scheme called Move On, organised by the child care charity NCH, is offering some of these youngsters a chance to rebuild their lives by giving them a secure family environment.
More carers are urgently needed so this scheme can spread and take as many youngsters off the streets as possible.
Prime Minister Tony Blair has the aim of stopping rough sleeping by the year 2002. Schemes such as Move On will help towards achieving that in East Sussex.
