NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: Preston Village Neighbourhood Watch have had a message from Sussex Police, asking people to be on their guard for a telephone scam which is operating in this area.

People are being rung up by someone claiming to be a technician from A.T. & T Service and claiming to be conducting tests on phone lines. They give you certain instructions which enable them to have full remote access to your telephone line which can then be used for chat line calls or international calls, all of which is will then be billed to you.

The advice is, if you get a call like this, not to do anything with your phone which they ask you to but to just put the phone down on them.
