How I agree with the sentiments of David Smart regarding "free bus travel" for the over-60s.

I'm 60 next birthday and still working, as are most people in my age group.

Why do we need subsidised travel? Doesn't the council know 60 is the new 40?

Haven't they seen us jogging on the seafront or playing tennis in the park? Don't they know that between adult education classes and trips to the cinema we are still out on the golf courses and swimming lengths in the pools?

Rather than spending £1.2million, from a council which is supposed to be strapped for cash, how about living within a budget, like the rest of us?
