A £28 million scheme to improve all aspects of transport and road safety has been submitted for Government approval.
The five-year plan will see investment in road maintenance, bridge strengthening, street lighting, passenger transport, traffic management, road safety, traffic calming, walking and Cycling in Brighton and Hove.
Brighton and Hove City Council's local transport plan is available to view on the council's website, offices and libraries and a CD-ROM version is available for £5 or £10.
Councillor Gill Mitchell, chairwoman of the council's environment committee, said: "This document should be of interest to everyone who travels about in the city as it sets out how transport is to be developed over the next five years."
More than £550,000 will be invested in road safety, plus £200,000 for safer routes to school schemes.
Cycling facilities will receive £110,000 and walking improvements £90,000. Funds of £515,000 have been set aside for roads maintenance and £220,000 will be invested in street lighting.
Ongoing schemes, like the Floral Clock improvements in Hove and the New Road transformation in Brighton have been given £470,000 and £1.3 million respectively.
Pool Valley coach station will get £20,000 to revamp the area for passengers.
