Albion's Reserves ended their home programme with an unfortunate 1-0 defeat by Gillingham at Worthing yesterday.
Gavin Grant scored the only goal of the game for the visitors in the 74th minute, latching onto a header from Paul Shields to beat keeper John Sullivan from close range.
Sullivan had thwarted Shields minutes earlier with a smart double save but Gillingham's Paul Crichton was by far the busier of the two keepers.
Rookie pro Doug Loft, fresh from his first senior goal against Stoke at Withdean on Sunday, was the most experienced member of a side otherwise comprised entirely of scholars.
The result means Albion finish third in the Pontin's Holidays Combination League. Their final fixture is away to Woking tomorrow (2pm).
The Seagulls will be back at the Gladwish Stadium on Saturday July 8 for their traditional pre-season friendly against Worthing (3pm).
The first team squad will also be off to France again to play Le Havre for the second season running on Tuesday July 18 and possibly Caen two days later.
Kerry Mayo's testimonial match, against opponents yet to be announced, is scheduled for Withdean on Saturday July 29.
Albion Reserves: Sullivan; Hinshelwood, Elphick, Breach, Cobbs; Cox, Fraser, Loft, Rents; Gatting, Gargan. Subs: Fogden for Hinshelwood (withdrawn 77), May, Martin, Skinner.
