As far as waste and sewage issues go, Tim Hodges certainly knows how to win friends and influence people by suggesting Newhaven accepts Brighton's effluent in return for the prosperity that Brighton suffering the stadium brings (Letters, May 3).

However, he neatly illustrates the point I was trying to make (Letters, May 2) - you can't cherrypick environmental responsibility.

Such issues go beyond notional borders and abdicating responsibility is no longer acceptable.
