BEING an artist myself and a lover of maps, I read with interest the article in the Life & Times supplement on Graham Martin, "A Trip In Time" (December 24).

At first glance I spotted a mistake - or have they moved St Sampson's Square?

Did the city councillors pass this in their planning department along with the other hideous ideas they seem to have lately?

I used to live in Lamel Street, now the area is almost unrecognisable. Why has it been allowed? Beautiful houses and buildings were knocked down to be replaced with ugly blocks of flats.

Now the old Hillards Store has gone. What next, the Beeswing or the Working Men's Club? There's little else left.

You shouldn't be allowed to carry on destroying this unique and beautiful city.
