If life is stressing you out with too much seriousness then worry not - Utter Nonsense have created the perfect antidote.

Once again these Fringe veterans stuck to the winning nonsensical formula that has produced shows like The Dawsons’ Christmas and Robot Builders. This time they trawled through their bonkers imaginations to create yet another cast of ridiculously clichéd over-the-top characters: Terry and Baz the beer monsters, repressed middle-Englanders Hatty and Boater, beautiful French Michelle and her dad Monsieur Duchamp all joined Tony and Roy in a ferry trip to France, to Uncle Fred and Aunt Maisie’s chateau.

But with a cast of two and absolutely no set, props, lighting or sound effects, the entire success of this production was all about the chemistry between the performers.

Luckily Tony Haase and Roy Hutchins are masters of the art of madcap. In the vein of Morecambe and Wise, this tight double-act pitched the show directly to the audience. It was never patronising but paced to allow the gags to ripple and settle before they moved on. Confident and self-aware, they quickly skipped through philosophy, high art, physical comedy, quirky songs and popular culture, everything securely underpinned with great observational humour.

The audience relaxed, relinquished defences and happily discovered they were laughing with them, laughing at us.
