I would like to thank everyone involved in my campaign for their dedication and hard work. Being a candidate in an election is an incredibly humbling experience, both from the perspective of those who commit their time and energy for a cause they believe is right, and the electorate who put their faith in change.

As the MP for Hove and Portslade I will work hard to ensure our constituency is heard in Westminster. I now endeavour to facilitate the implementation of the pledges for change I have campaigned on for the last four years – support for the creative industries in the city, more police on the streets and against a repeal of the foxhunting ban.

Hove and Portslade is a wonderful constituency and, starting now, I will do everything in my power as your MP to make changes for the better.

These changes encompass a wide range of core policies, including improvements for the NHS, schools and opportunities for businesses to help in the recovery of our fractured economy. My commitment to security on our streets is also strong with a pursuit for more visible policing, achieved from reducing the burden of form-filling bureaucracy. Additionally, I am committed to supporting and promoting our city as a centre for culture and the arts.

I also campaigned to ensure new developments progress quickly, keeping our city at the forefront of new innovative designs, whilst also being sympathetic to the existing unique architecture and increased demand on local services.

To get to this stage is a result of huge amount of assistance of a number of talented individuals. I cannot thank everyone, but I would like to specifically thank my agent, Heather Newberry-Martin, for the tireless effort she has made to my campaign over the years.

It is also important to note the significant work undertaken by the Conservative Councillors of Hove and Portslade – a team of loyal and passionate colleagues who have Hove and Portslade’s interests at heart. And of course my family for their never ending support.

And most importantly, none of this would have been possible without the incredibly generous help of all the volunteers and voting supporters committed to change in Hove and Portslade. To them I am indebted.
