I NEVER thought I would experience elation after a Budget, but I must confess that right now I am delighted with the job that Chancellor George Osborne has done.
My personal losses have been neatly balanced against those suffered by other taxpayers so I don’t feel as though my income group has been singled out, while pensioners, the most vulnerable and low paid workers have been protected and, indeed, may well be better off.
Even the North-East, as a disadvantaged region, has received targeted assistance to create jobs.
Only die-hard Labour supporters in complete denial about the mess their failed government created could possibly object to the Chancellor’s proposals.
