An aircraft had to return to Gatwick after take-off on Saturday because of technical problems.
The flight, easyJet EZY8791, departed at 2.30pm for a four-hour non-stop journey to Rhodes.
It touched down safely at Gatwick at 5.15pm.
A spokeswoman for Gatwick Airport said: "We had an aircraft that had returned because it had a hydraulic problem.
"It landed safely. All the passengers have disembarked."
Fire crews from Horley and Crawley were sent to the airport as a precaution.
Andrew McConnell, spokesman for easyJet, said on Sunday: "EasyJet flight EZY8791 experienced a minor technical fault shortly after take off.
"In line with standard operating procedures, and as a precaution, the aircraft returned to Gatwick to be inspected by engineers.
"The flight arrived safely and all the passengers disembarked normally.
"Regrettably, there was no replacement aircraft available, and therefore passengers were given overnight hotel accommodation.
"Passengers have now resumed their journey, and their flight departed Gatwick earlier this morning."
