Baby fox rescued from sea off Eastbourne

A baby fox was rescued from the sea after being spotted at a busy harbour.

Tony Neads of East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service WRAS reached the cub by boat and pulled the animal from the water near Sovereign Harbour in Eastbourne.

The fox, who was barely conscious, was wrapped him in a blanket to raise his temperature before being given emergency medication at WRAS Casualty Care Centre in Whitesmith.

Trevor Weeks, who runs WRAS, said despite Sunday’s soggy ordeal he is now bright eyed and bushy tailed.

He added: “It’s almost as if nothing has happened.”

Taken my earlier comment about leaving babies alone & chasing seagulls to heart?

I wonder how he got in the water in the first place, perhaps he was thrown in!!!
Poor little mite, I'm glad he's safe and if he wants to live in my garden, he's more than welcome - one more won't make any difference!

Baby eating vermin, I will bet the Seagulls chased him into the sea....evil airborne versions of the people who hang about the tip...I hope he goes to live in tombraiders garden....
