Two years ago, he apologised for his behaviour and promised to mend his ways.

Now Brighton bad boy Korrel Kennedy has become a model - despite being the subject of an Asbo.

The 17-year-old has turned his troubled young life around after he was discovered by a modelling scout in the city.

Just a week after he was signed up to the mandp(CORR) agency in London's trendy Soho, Korrel had been booked for his first shoot for a magazine.

And he walked barefoot down the catwalk in Jean Paul Gaultier underwear at the Spring/Summer Paris Fashion Show.

It is a far cry from 2007 when the then 14-year-old was made the subject of an Asbo for offences including assault, criminal damage and being drink and disorderly.

The teenager, who was living with his mother in Gladstone Place, Brighton, was banned from entering parts of the city after police described him as “one of, if not the most problematic young person in Brighton and Hove".

He later told The Argus he wanted to stay out of trouble.

Korrel said: “I feel this has given me the wake-up call I needed and as from now I am going to try my best to be a better person.

“I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone I may have upset through my actions. I believe it's time for a change and I will do my best to right my wrongs.”

mandp's website describes him as “6ft 1in tall with brown eyes and black hair” and explains that Korrel was scouted at a Brighton tattoo parlour.

It says: “Putting plans to become a plumber on hold, within a week of signing with mandp models he had booked his first shoot - i-D Magazine with Norbert Schoerner.”

Korrel is also listed on the website of New York modelling agency Major Model Management.

His website photos have prompted comments from adoring fans - with Korrel replying to thank them for their compliments.

Last month, he appeared on the three-part BBC programme Gareth Malone Goes to Glyndebourne when the choirmaster visited several groups including Brighton and Hove young offenders' institution to form a choir to sing at the internationally renowned opera house near Lewes.

But Korrel dropped out after just two episodes after he “played truant”, according to the BBC.

mandp and Korrel declined to speak to The Argus.
