For Mandy Taylor – This is it.

After five hours of pain over two gruelling sessions, her ultimate tribute to the late king of pop is complete.

The 43-year-old of Shelley Close, Lewes, was left devastated when Michael Jackson suffered a heart attack and died at his Los Angeles home in June 2009.

Ever since, she has been plotting how to pay homage to the moonwalking, crotch-grabbing star.

And after going under the needle at Lewes tattoo parlour Tizzs, life-long fan Mandy says she is thrilled with the results.

The catering assistant at Lewes Old Grammar School said: "I absolutely love it. You take a risk when you get a tattoo in case it doesn’t come out right. But my tattooist Sarah is very clever and it is just how I wanted it. The eyes are my favourite - they are so lifelike."

Is the Argus doing somebody a favour by publicising their business? I can't see any other reason for this article.

And,yes,the ear is wrong. But thats ok,its on her back,so she will never see it herself.

It reminds me of that freaky science experiment a few years back where they grew an ear on the back of a mouse. So ,although this is a totally inaccurate drawing, it is figuratively an accurate depictionof MJ i.e a freaky, scientfic experiment gone wrong

Yes that's exactly how it should be as the face is tilted up slightly, however I agree it does look very odd at a casual glance!

Not the sort of thing I'd have done personally, tribute tattoo's are a bit 1980's in my opinion!

Like rubbernecking at a ghastly accident, I can't take my eyes off it either, but I do believe that the poor draughtsmanship might have been overlooked if either (a) the eyes could follow you round the room like the Mona Lisa's, or (b) blinked when owner Mandy shrugs her shoulders.

I think the tattoo on her arm is Bruce Forsyth not Shakin Stevens?But the first thing I thought when I saw the MJ was how the ear looked much too low and then I read the comments and I'm not alone. How sad that someone is so lacking in their life that they want a tattoo on their back of a pop star who faced child abuse allegations. and bought off the charges.

Well, apart from the ear which was obviosly an afterthought by the tattooist and quite frankly laughable! The picture looks like a young Liza Minnelli after a shower.... On the plus side... I have a sneaky feeling, that if I was of that persuasion, and were to find myself in flagrante with this individual.... This might be the best view....

But, I believe, a great many of the young men of Lewes and the surrounding towns and villages will over the coming months and years, become very 'familiar' with this tattoo and come believe that people have ears on their necks! Plus, I would find it very off putting to wake in the morning with the memory of ...well, Michael Jackson! Luckily it resembles the Artful Dodger form Oliver and I have always had a thing for him!....

In response to the usual sad line up of MJ haters, what did he ever do to you personally? It is you that need to get a life. Imagine spending so much energy tracking down stuff you don't like? What a negative and wasteless life that is! MJ was none of the things you've accused him of. Go find out the real facts from reputable sources (eg Charles Thomson - journalist and Tom Mesereau - lawyer).

In response to this tattoo. I can understand your desire to have a tattoo, I really can and applaud you for doing this and for sharing but, OMG!! I have to say it sadly looks nothing like Michael in any era. The tattooist should be very disappointed with this job. It is very poorly drawn. Agree with all the comments above on the qualities of the tattoo, esp the ear. It is not proportioned properly nor placed in the correct location. Eyes look nothing like Michael. Sadly this is a very poor advertisement for this tattooist. If you like it though, that's really all that matters, but the tattooist should not do portraits!!

How on earth do things like this get published, and then get such a response from so many people ?
I contacted the argus to do a article on Some charity work that my team were doing yesterday for the Phoenix Stroke club in Horsham. We (8 of us) took the day of work to re decorate their meeting rooms, we supplied all paints and tools at our own expence. The paper didn't even return my calls/mails. Thanks for your support in a local charity !!!!!!!!!

I saw someone once with a tattoo of Lenny Henry on their shoulder, when i enquired why the guy looked shocked and told me it was Nelson Mandela.

Got me thinking that perhaps the same tattoo artist is responsible!!

I'm off to have one done of Jesus, just a bit concerned it might look like FRancis Rossi...

I am outraged at all the negative comments, the ear was perfectly placed and after years of plastic surgery if anything it should have been slightly lower. It was well known in the Michael Jackson fan club that that his left ear was indeed level with his jawbone. "A-Heee Hee :)

It reminds me of the story of the Lady from Lewes who had he favourite Country and Western heroes tattooed on each buttock by this very same tattooist...She had Glenn Campbell on one cheek and Jim Reeves on the other...the first friend she showed it too, said "I am not sure about the one on the left....and the one on the right is ...vaguely familiar..but the one in the middle is definitely WILLIE NELSON!"

At least when she does indulge in the..reverse good fortune position people will be able to exclaim

"Ear! Is that Michael Jackson!"
