Firefighters spent the early hours of the morning tackling a blaze where three recreational huts were destroyed.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews from Crawley, Horsham and Horley were called to Tilgate Huts, in Tilgate Forest, behind the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley, at 2.05am today.

The wooden huts, which were 25 metres by 25 metres each, were completely destroyed by the flames.

Firefighters spent more than four hours using four pumps and specialist equipment to extinguish the fire.

Sussex Police were also called to the scene and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
