Here we go again, same old "they need to wash and get a job" brigade.
These people moan about protesters but i would rather have a town full of these protesters than a town full of bigoted, dumb daily mail reading idiots who although choose to live in probably the most diverse city in the country dont like anything which goes against the grain.
Well done to people who actually care about what is going on in our world and ignore the stupid remarks by armchair fascists
and yes i have lived in Brighton all my life.. cos i know this boring question is gonna come up!!
People who care?? You are joking surely. The few that do actually care need to stop and think about what they are trying to achieve. Success = loss of jobs and no more. EDO will still make release mechanisms, bombs will still drop. I appreciate that you have to start somewhere but picking on a manufacturer in a nice part of the world who at worst is taking advantage of war is particularly pointless.

So there are more than the two types of people who seem to inhabit your world. A third type would be those who want to see intelligent thought occasionally applied so the real problems can be identified. Our vacant politicians are only in charge because people are too stupid to see through their headline grabbing nonsense. Smash EDO might be anti-establishment but they do the same thing - grab headlines and bang on about how they care so much whilst dodging the real, trickier issues that cause war."

Anti-arms protesters plan "final push" on Brighton factory

Anti-arms protesters plan "final push" on Brighton factory Anti-arms protesters plan "final push" on Brighton factory

Anti-arms protesters are planning a “final push” to close down a controversial factory.

Smash EDO is holding a mass demonstration against the EDO plant in Moulsecoomb, Brighton, in October.

After a high-profile court victory last month, the group says it is aiming to close it down for the day and eventually drive it out of the city for good.

Police have warned the acquittal of eight people who vandalised the factory last year should not send a message that the site is fair game for attacks.

The event raises the prospect of violent clashes like those seen at previous demonstrations, where protesters have tried to force their way into the grounds of the site in Home Farm Road, Brighton.
