An 11-year-old boy died after suffering an asthma attack during a trip to the cinema.
Paramedics tried to help Max Samaras after he suffered sudden respiratory failure during an early morning film screening at the Connaught Theatre in Worthing.
He died shortly afterwards at Worthing Hospital.
Max attended Thomas A Becket Middle School in Glebeside Avenue, Worthing.
He lived with his parents and older sister Jasmin.
Max’s family were too upset to speak to The Argus.
The Connaught Theatre is run by Worthing Borough Council.
A council spokeswoman told The Argus: “We are desperately sad about the tragic loss of young Max who suffered an asthma attack in the Connaught Theatre.
“Our thoughts are very much with the family.”
A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed two ambulances attended the theatre at 10.20am on Saturday, August 14, and provided treated to Max, who was suffering respiratory failure following an asthma attack.
She said he was taken to Worthing Hospital by ambulance where he later died.
