A teenager was bitten on the stomach during a street attack. Police are appealing for witnesses after the 14-year-old girl and her mother were assaulted in Kings Road, in St Leonards.

The pair was approached by two women on August 3 at about 6.50pm who began to row with the mother and daughter.

The child was bitten on the abdomen before a passerby intervened and the two women ran away towards the railway station at Warrior Squaure.

Police have only just released details of the incident.

The first woman is described as black, in her late teens or early twenties with black shoulder length hair.

She is about 5’7” and was wearing a black cardigan, blue jeans and white trainers.

The second woman is described as white, about 17 years old, of a similar height with blonde hair tied in a bun.

PC Vicky Elliott said “I would like to speak to anyone who was in Kings Road at 6.50pm on Tuesday, August 3, and anyone who may know who these two women that assaulted this teenager are.”
