Cult graffiti artist Banksy has confirmed that a mural on a beach wall is his latest creation.
Speaking to The Argus, the street artist, whose identity is still unknown, said the image of a boy playing in a sandcastle emblazoned with the Tesco logo is the genuine article.
The mural, appeared last weekend on the beach in St Leonards at the same time as Banksy, is rumoured to have attended his friend Ben Eine’s birthday in nearby Hastings.
People are now being urged to go and see the work, on the beach wall outside St Leonards Parish Church in the Marina, in case Hastings Borough Council removes it.
It is the council’s policy to remove any graffiti that has not been granted permission but yesterday they declined to comment on the fate of a genuine Banksy.
