Police investigate lasers shone at planes over Sussex

Police are investigating a third report of a laser being shone at a plane landing at Gatwick Airport.

The Sussex Police helicopter was scrambled shortly after 11pm on Saturday night after a red beam was directed at a plane.

Last week police were also called to trace the source of the laser directed at two descending aircraft but no one was found.

The beams had come from the East Grinstead area.

All three aircraft landed safely.

A police spokesman said: “It can interfere with the aircraft and cause danger. It is a serious offence and we are investigating.”

Anyone who has information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999.

Great news for the terrorists, don't bother with Gatwick lads, the home grown idiots will cause all the havoc needed! Hope the old bill will do something drastic to them, if, and when, they manage to catch them!

This is classed as a particularly dangerous offence and putting an aircraft in danger will almost always be dealt with by way of a prison sentence. However, more than likely kids so a day out at a theme park will be on order if they ever get caught! Happy days!

Seeing as we can't ban stupidity, why can't we ban these lasers?I believe they're banned in Australia.

But then only criminals will have lasers.
.
The correct course of action involves campaign bombing East Grinstead back in to the stone age.
