Hairdressing has reached new heights – quite literally.

Jedward may be the ones renowned for their sky-high quiffs, but Sussex scissor-smith Daren Terry has certainly trumped their efforts.

Forty-two-year-old Daren became the first hairdresser to cut and style locks in a hot air balloon.

Braving heights of 1,800ft, the h-airbourne stylist successfully sculpted a new do for client Danielle Jones.

He said: “It was a bit of a challenge but you could say we kept our heads and in the end Danielle was extremely pleased with her style.

“It took a lot of concentration because the views were awesome and I had to keep focused on the styling, while trying to take a sneak peek at the sunset and the beautiful countryside below.

“We researched as much as we can and we believe that this is a first for hairdressing.”
