A dodgy electrical box sparked a fire in a Hove flat today.

The blaze broke out at the flat in Portland Road at 3am, a Hove firefighter who attended the blaze said.

He continued: “We were called to the fire at 3am. It started in an electrical box and there was smoke damage. Luckily the person who lived there was not at home.

“EDF Energy came round and they repaired the fault.”
