Ovingdean school bought for £4.5 million

A former school for deaf children has sold for close to £4.5 million.

Ovingdean Hall School, which closed in July, is believed to have been bought for close to its asking price and will now be turned into an international study centre for foreign students.

It will be rebranded as Ovingdean Hall College.

The eight-hectare site, which includes a Grade II listed former mansion and a number of modern buildings, has been purchased by a group of wealthy individuals from London who invest in the property market.

It is hoped the new centre in Greenways, Ovingdean, will be up and running by the end of next month.

It isn't great news for the deaf people who have lost their school!

Who are the people who have bought it? The report says they invest in property so who is running the study centre? How long before the owners decide there is more money to be made by building houses?
