Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club has invested a further £2.7million into the American Express Community Stadium.

The money will provide 400 extra 1901 Club Platinum match day seats and an additional supporters' restaurant.

All of the 2,109 1901 Platinum Club seats which were originally offered have been sold. The new seats are on sale now bringing the total to 2,501.

People who want to join the 1901 Platinum Club can either pay of deposit of £500, which will hold the seat for five years, or a deposit of £1,000 for a lifetime membership. When the stadium opens those members will then pay £99 a month by direct debit to watch the matches and take advantage of the the 1901 Platinum Club membership.

More were issued following a huge demand for premium seats. A previously unused floor in the East Stand will now be developed into an extra 1901 Platinum lounge, coupling high quality seats with five-star hospitality facilities.

The East Stand will also house a themed restaurant and bar open to all supporters, along with catering kitchens.

Chief Executive Martin Perry said: “We are thrilled with the support we have received from the business community in Sussex and also to be able to offer fans what they have asked for - a good quality eating area and bar, where families and individual supporters can enjoy quality hospitality before the match, and for special occasions such as birthdays and other family celebrations.”

The 1901 Club premium seats have been an unprecedented sales success for the club with all 2,109 West Stand hospitality seats sold in record time, a full nine months ahead of schedule. All 14 executive boxes sold out in March.

Albion fans Norman Cook and Des Lynam were some of the first people to sign up to the 1901 Club when sales opened to friends and family only in February.
