The future of the Withdean Stadium could be decided next week.
Whitehawk FC has been revealed as the most likely new occupants of the stadium when Brighton and Hove Albion move to their new home next year.
The council will consider a request from Whitehawk FC to use the ground for two years when the Seagulls move into the Amex Community Stadium in June.
The Ryman League Division One South team would share the stadium with Albion’s reserves, youth and women’s teams as well as the athletics club.
The council have also been approached by Sussex Thunder American Football club to host the team’s home matches.
As a consequence all groups have been warned not to “over use” the pitch.
